As the United Kingdom continues its negotiations for exiting the European Union, CANZUK International will be formulating and coordinating an international cross-party group to promote free movement and free trade between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The group will consist of Members of Parliament from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom who will conduct meetings and detail legislation for the introduction of free movement and free trade between the countries.
At present, CANZUK International already has support from numerous prominent officials in each parliament, including the leader of the opposition in Canada, Andrew Scheer, former Prime Minister of Australia, Tony Abbott, and the UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Secretary, Boris Johnson.
With recent news also indicating reciprocal living and working rights being discussed between the UK and New Zealand, and leaked documents from the British government confirming plans for “special passport arrangements“ with Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the momentum for establishing free movement between the four Commonwealth countries is growing exponentially.
With the formation of an international cross-party group to discuss, detail and advocate living and working rights between these countries, CANZUK International’s campaign will further its success and achieve greater recognition from within each parliament and among senior government officials.
To aid our efforts, we encourage all of our supporters to email their local Member of Parliament and pledge their support for free movement and free trade between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. More details on emailing your local MP can be found here.
