CANZUK International’s latest report, detailing the benefits of facilitated migration, free trade and foreign policy coordination between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, has been submitted to the parliament of New Zealand.
The report titled “The Future of New Zealand’s Foreign Policy” outlines the numerous benefits of reciprocal migration and free trade between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and how New Zealand would become a significant economic power through mutual cooperation between the four countries.
The report has also been submitted to New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, who recently won a majority in the New Zealand House of Representatives under the governing Labour Party following the national election of October 2020.
An email together with the report was submitted on January 9th, 2021 to all MPs within the New Zealand parliament. It is expected to be received positively amongst many within the governing Labour Party, the opposition National Party and the ACT Party given the widespread public support for CANZUK across the country (currently polled at 82%).
To compliment the submission of our report, we encourage all supporters of our campaign to email their local Member of Parliament and request their support for closer migration, trade and diplomatic ties between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Our free letter/email template can be viewed and downloaded here, along with information about how to locate and write to your local parliamentary representative.
CANZUK International will encourage all New Zealand MPs to support our proposals within the submitted report and seek to establish a cross-party parliamentary group in New Zealand supportive of implementing CANZUK throughout the new parliamentary term.
