In a significant endorsement for our CANZUK campaign, UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has thrown her support behind an alliance between the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, stating that such an economic bloc would be beneficial for the UK amid global uncertainties.
Badenoch’s endorsement marks a pivotal moment for the Conservatives, with the party publicly stating that CANZUK will be a “top of the in-tray” issue should they form government.
Badenoch also emphasized the mutual benefits, noting that the bloc would enhance trade, mobility, and security cooperation among the four nations. She also affirmed that strengthening economic and security ties with the three former dominions was ‘more important than ever’.

‘Our four nations have shared strengths in goods, services, and defence. By working more closely together, we can combine these collective strengths to boost our economic growth and our national security,’ she said.
Andrew Griffith, the Shadow Business and Trade Secretary, also added: ‘Our nations share values, language and history – who wouldn’t want closer links?’
The announcement from Kemi Badenoch and the UK Conservative Party comes shortly after the Conservative Party of Canada leader, Pierre Poilievre, announced his endorsement of CANZUK at an event in London last week.
A public opinion survey conducted in February also revealed majority support for CANZUK across the four countries, with 72% support in Canada, 68% support in Australia, 75% support in New Zealand, and 70% support in the UK.
CANZUK International welcomes the endorsement from Kemi Badenoch and the UK Conservative Party, and will continue to work with MPs across the United Kingdom to further support for closer ties between the CANZUK countries.
