Contact Your Local Member of Parliament

Members of Parliament are democratically elected law makers who can advocate legislation promoting free movement and trade between Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. You can significantly help our campaign by contacting your local Member of Parliament today.

How To Write A Letter/Email To Your MP

Step 1:   Use the parliamentary directory search icons below to locate your local MP and his/her contact details;

Canada

Australia

New Zealand

United Kingdom

Step 2:  Check their personal directory page to verify the spelling of their surname and note their correct mailing/email address;

Step 3:  Address your letter/email to “Mr.” or “Ms.”, followed by the last name of the MP (for example: “Dear Mr. Jones,”). Treat the letter as you would any formal business letter. Exceptions apply to Ministers, Senators and Prime Ministers, who use the following salutations:

    • For Ministers, the prefix “Minister” should be used instead, with no mention of the person’s first or last names (for example: “Dear Minister,”)
    • For Senators, the prefix “Senator” should be used instead, with no mention of the person’s first or last names (for example: “Dear Senator,”)
    • For Prime Ministers, the prefix “Prime Minister” should be used instead, with no mention of the person’s first or last names (for example: “Dear Prime Minister,”)

When in doubt about which prefixes to use, check with your country’s parliamentary website;

Step 4:  Draft your letter asking for your MP’s support of CANZUK International’s campaign, or use our pre-written template which can be downloaded and customized via the below links:
